Laskey Road Reopens - Sort Of

Share

(Toledo, OH) Residents of West Toledo received some good news today as Laskey Road began to accommodate both westbound and eastbound traffic for the first time since July.

Unfortunately, the grand reopening was marred by sewer repairs at Rambo Lane; the fresh layers of asphalt poured this week had to be torn up. The crews even finished painting the lane markers only to see their work destroyed this morning.

The wasted effort and lack of coordination between city departments, private contractors, and utility companies can be mind-boggling. There must be a way to connect the various entities to improve communication so that this sort of stupidity is avoided.

Taxpayers deserve better than this.

This is absurdity.

One thing I've learned over the years, someone always gets left out and that is who will be tearing things up before the ashphalt is cool...

It wouldn't be so bad if they patched it properly, but the offending party never seems to know how to make a smooth patch that doesn't sink making a rut in 60 days.

I suspect that you are correct, Hooda.

You seem to be talking about the Carty years. I recall well the patchwork street repairs done by the Carty team. Ford was stripping streets down to the core for a very long-lasting job.

Of course, folks bi-ched about these repairs and accused Ford of doing it for re-election value.

Let's look at the street 'repairs' that the 'Carty Team' does. After all, Carty Gets Results.
