Rove Dodges Indictment Bullet

Share
(Washington, DC) The prosecutor in the CIA leak case informed Karl Rove that he would not be indicted with any criminal charges.

Special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald has already secured a criminal indictment against Vice President Dick Cheney's former chief of staff, I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby.

Rove testified five times before the federal grand jury.

“On June 12, 2006, Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald formally advised us that he does not anticipate seeking charges against Karl Rove.

Here is the text of a statement from Robert Luskin, Karl Rove's attorney:

“On June 12, 2006, Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald formally advised us that he does not anticipate seeking charges against Karl Rove.

“In deference to the pending case, we will not make any further public statements about the subject matter of the investigation. We believe that the Special Counsel's decision should put an end to the baseless speculation about Mr. Rove’s conduct.”

so - barring Mr. Rove having revealed Ms. Plame's identity - who did it?

Think it was Scooter? His was the only indictment I thought...

Huh? I just posted the news item without comnmentary. Personally I am not too worked up either way.

If the grand jury did not find a reason to indict him, so be it. I'm not in that room.

As I am not a member of any political party, I do not have a political stake in this. I just find it interesting from a news and analysis perspective.

Seems like the buck is stopping at Libby, Kate.

Whether or not this is "truth," or by design, perhaps we will not know for many years.

People eventually talk, or sign multi-million dollar book deals.

I hear that Rove will be moving to Florida soon to search for the 'real leakers.'

Maybe O.J. can help him out...

Who, then?

Thus ends another chapter in America's history where we will probably never find out or have to wait years ala Deep Throat to be told anything.

As I recall, Mr. and Mrs. Plame were not overly discreet about her role.

I'm happy for Karl Rove. He obviously didn't do anything wrong.

Mike, It looks like you got an anonymous wingnut who is ALWAYS the first person to post some obnoxious drivel.

I ping Technorati after every post, so there's no telling who will drop by when I am at the top of the Technorati queue.

I get a lot of quick-stay, drive-by visitors from Technorati.

They are much like the crowd from Fark.com - short attention span and rapid comments.

True words....there will be many 'aha' moments in our golden years I believe.

In any case, the REAL truth may elude the truth purists for decades.

They can wait. We all can wait.

At this point, the truth seekers have moved on to other game.
