Independence is my happiness, and I view things as they are, without regard to place or person; my country is the world, and my religion is to do good.

Oddly enough, some time last week I down loaded Thomas Paine’s “Common Sense” to take the opportunity to read the work that started this country. I was doing research for a poem I was working on. I wanted to see how far we have strayed from our basic core values of the founding fathers when they were forging the principals of this country they had envisioned. All of the tyranny that Paine was stating to resist and throw off the shackles of influence, we are now trying to inflict on others. A good and timely choice on the quote Mike.
